North Texas gets a short break from the rain on Wednesday before storms return in time for the evening commute.A First Alert Weather Day is in effect for Wednesday due to the slight risk of severe storms bringing hail and damaging winds to the western and southwestern sides of North Texas.

While storm clouds are returning to the region Wednesday, the worst of it is likely to miss the metro area. The highest chance of severe storms will be for counties to the west and southwest of Fort Worth,

It's possible Thursday may be a First Alert Weather Day as a cold front moves into North Texas. As it moves, there will be mainly a rain threat, but as the front stalls south of I-20, don't rule out the chance of a few strong to marginally severe storms.
