July 4 is a federal holiday, meaning all major banks (and pretty much all the minor ones) will be closed. You can, however, still use ATM machines to get cash or put money into your account, and online banking is open, though many transactions won’t process until Monday morning.

According to a spokesperson, Publix is open on the Fourth of July in 2025 during normal business hours. So, if you're in need a few last-minute items for your holiday picnic or milk, bread or any other basics to get through the rest of the weekend, Publix stores will be open and welcoming customers as usual.

If you’re one of the millions celebrating July 4th, you will be glad to know Walmart is open. Walmart stores will be open regular hours - typically 6 a.m.-11 p.m. for Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets. Some services may be limited on the holiday, however, so it’s always best to check ahead.
