Large crowds gathered near a federal detention center in downtown Los Angeles Friday protesting immigration raids that had taken place throughout the city.

Federal agents arresting undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles clashed with concrete-hurling protesters as police tear gas and pepper spray.

Mayor Bass condemned the action, saying her office was in "close coordination" with immigrant rights organizations.
