Pixel, Emergency SOS
Pixel Watch now requires your confirmation before contacting emergency services
Just as we spotted Google prepping earlier this week, the Pixel Watch is starting to get a new workflow for activating Emergency SOS.
The Pixel Watch requires an extra Emergency SOS input to avoid accidentals
Google detailed an incoming update for the Pixel Watch Emergency SOS feature that adds a required confirmation by the user. Instead of dialing automatically, the new default will require users to press and hold the display to confirm that they need help. Google deployed a similar method to Android device's through the Personal Safety app.
Your Pixel Watch now requires an extra step when using the Emergency SOS feature
Google is rolling out an update for the Pixel Watch that will add an extra step for its Emergency SOS feature. The change requires five crown taps and pressing and holding the screen to initiate a call. Users can revert to the original method by selecting "Automatically call" in settings.

Google may add an extra step when making emergency calls from the Pixel Watch
The good news is that the current method to activate Emergency SOS isn't going away. The code shows that the users will be given an option to choose. In addition, Google will also apparently be revamping the current method by adding a five-second delay before emergency services are contacted, which should mitigate most issues.
Pixel Watch Emergency SOS Feature: Updates and Improvements on the Horizon
The findings suggest that Google is testing an additional activation method that would require users to touch and press the Pixel Watch screen for a few seconds in combination with the crown presses. This would make Emergency SOS activation more deliberate and reduce the likelihood of accidental triggers.
