The incursion of a significant number of Russian drones into Poland is a dramatic and unsettling escalation of the war in Ukraine.

One of Poland’s most senior officials fired back at President Donald Trump on Friday. Trump, while speaking to reporters on Thursday, suggested that a Russian drone incursion into Polish airspace earlier this week “could’ve been a mistake.

The US President’s first public remarks on the incident came after Poland shot down three of 19 Russian drones that crossed its border, an act EU officials see as a NATO test.

"It's sort of running out and running out fast," Trump said when asked on "FOX and Friends" about his patience for the Russian president. Since taking office for his second term, Trump has sought to mediate an end to the bloody war that began when Russia invaded its neighbor in February 2022.
