Officials have released a mugshot of the gunman involved in the UPMC Memorial Hospital shooting that killed a West York police officer. The shooter, identified as Diogenes Archangel-Ortiz, entered the hospital on Saturday with a bag containing a handgun and zip ties.

A police officer is dead, and the gunman was shot and killed Saturday after he took staff members hostage and wounded multiple people at central Pennsylvania hospital, according to York County District Attorney Tim Barker.

On Saturday, Archangel-Ortiz returned with a bag full of zip ties and a semiautomatic handgun, police said. He shot and wounded three hospital staffers — a doctor, a nurse and a custodian — and took them hostage inside the ICU, cops said.
