One person is dead after a house fire in Baltimore's Waverly neighborhood on Friday morning, according to fire officials. Firefighters responded to the 500 block of E 38th Street around 4:15 a.m. where they found fire and smoke coming from a two-story home.

A 63-year-old woman is dead after a rowhome fire on E. 38th Street, just off Greenmount Ave., Friday morning. The person had been reported missing to firefighters when crews arrived on the scene. The Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the scene around 4 a.

The two people were taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
