Ridley Scott’s “Alien” franchise has landed on TV with “Alien: Earth,” a prequel series set two years before the original space horror movie. It follows a brand new cast full of humans, synths, Xenomorphs and more as a group of soldiers investigate a crashed ship on Earth and discover some terrifying secrets inside.

While the far more conventional legacy sequel Alien: Romulus was the studio’s first at-bat with the franchise, Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth sees the now Disney-owned property coming to television in prestigious, bold, and daring fashion.

Earth season 1 premiere has left viewers anticipating what comes next after the intense ending of episode 2. Set in the year 2010, the series acts as a prequel to the original 1979 film.

The first season of the show comprises eight episodes, each with an approximate runtime of an hour. On the film and television rating website Rotten Tomatoes, Alien: Earth has been certified 96% ‘fresh,’ while the audience score stands at 72%.
