We were pleasantly surprised to find the castle was English Heritage as we are members. Although small and a ruin it was fascinating and the views from it were excellent Full review by MichaelMacartney

Cracking castle and easy to access if you park in the market square. You certainly get a good workout whilst visiting are there are a lot of stone steps inside the tower. However the surrounding view… Full review by Leaf_Peeper00

Do they sell the Richmond Castle and Easby Abbey guidebook, which has a red spine, at Richmond Castle itself?

Yes. And you need to go to the castle first to get it as there is nothing on sale at the abbey

There are a lot of steps, about 2-3 storeys but they are straight and fairly even so not too bad.
