We did a repelling excursion with the family. Two adventuresome girls 18 and 13. So much fun! You can come down 2 or 3 at a time for fun group pictures. The person who is far left when facing t…Full review by GHamp23

Juan Curi was a thrilling waterfall to rappel down. It's about 75 meters and you rappel down the side for the most part (although I was soaked within a few seconds). The rocks are very slippery, but…Full review by Robert S

Great place if you want to check out a waterfall. This was suppose to be the closest one to SanGil. I went on my own with my boyfriend and caught the local bus which was about a 30 min ride one way. …Full review by Sharon9192

I'm sorry, but I haven't dedicated any time to exploring and comparing all transport options. I'm not sure if there is smaller local airport closer to San Gil but what I do know is that the closest international airport is in Bucaramanga which is about 2 hours bus ride from San Gil. The buses are very comfortable even for longer stretches and it would probably cost you less than $ 20.00. We paid $40.00 for a 12 hour trip from Medellin to San Gil each way. It's a nice scenic road, but some might find it scary at times. Most taxi's are very small cars KIA Picanto and the like and some which do slightly longer trips are as big as a Hyundai Accent. For a trip like this a taxi (if at all available) doesn't sound like the best option. The rate would have to cover its return. I'm talking from the little Colombian travel experience I have based on 3 trips to Medellin, 1 to Cartagena, 1 to Baranquilla and 2 to San Gil. A taxi is a very cheap and efficient means of transportation for local trips but anything over half an hour and luggage you're better off looking into bus, metro or other public transportation. I ope this helps a little.
