It was well worth the climb through a beautiful park for the spectacular views of the city and water. It was also good to get a sense of the important history.Full review by 951brendag

Monte del Castro is a park centred on the peak of a steep hill - from base to top a good half hour if you are moderately fit. Actually not that scenic either. Vigo seems more of a working city than for non-native day tourists. There is a maritime museum, but it is a long way from the station, albeit it is then close to a nice promenade. Just walking the streets was interesting - we walked and even worked out some bus routes. There is a shellfish area just up from the port - entertaining.
