Is there a restaurant for lunch on site? If not, can someone recommend a nearby lunch place for about a dozen people?
A:
No. You will need to drive a half hour for restaurants.

Are they open for tours on the 4th of July?
A:
According to the website the plantation is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Yikes. So sorry to have taken so long to reply. I think at least two hours, to see the house, the movie and the grounds. There are several sites (First Thanksgiving, memorial to the history of "Taps" and the family cemetery) on the grounds, so I would say three hours if you are not a fast walker.

suggest u call them directly

If you just want to come take pictures of the outside of building do you have to pay to get in?

I don't believe you need to worry about fees as they are for tours of the house.
