You can find these on both gumtree and ebay, you can spot them by looking at the sellers history, if they only have one to sell it's their beat up daily driver. What you do want is a laptop that's been stashed in a cupboard in some not-for-profit and then handed over to the IT guys who are rolling out updated laptops for all staff.

gumtree what has happened to gumtree?? quality of user experience has been on a downward spiral for a while but I’ve been recently been researching for a change of car, previously I’ve found gumtree a good place to find more genuine sellers of a more older demographic and had success.
Thanks mate, posted a Gumtree for the first time in forever and immediately got the same-ish scam. Wasn't sure about it so I searched if anyone had encountered this type of scam.
Today I nearly fell for quite a clever gumtree scam which I’m sure has fooled many people and want to raise awareness so others can avoid it. I consider myself quite diligent and “scam-proof” but this one very nearly got me which is worrying for those who may not have such an eye for scams.

All smelled very scammy so didn’t proceed and while I was searching around for similar plays the buyer seems to have blocked me.
