However, what stumps me is the usage of Class<>. The java class Class is supposed to also take a template name, (or so I'm being told by the yellow underline in eclipse). I don't understand what I should put in there. The whole point of the Class object is when you don't fully have the information about an object, for reflection and such.
A good use of a static class is in defining one-off, utility and/or library classes where instantiation would not make sense. A great example is the Math class that contains some mathematical constants such as PI and E and simply provides mathematical calculations. Requiring instantiation in such a case would be unnecessary and confusing.
A mixin is a class that's designed to be used with multiple inheritance.
